Definition of 6-Azauridine

A synthetic triazine nucleoside derivative possessing antineoplastic and anti-psoriatic activity. After metabolism to 6-azauridine-5-prime monophosphate, 6-Azauridine inhibits de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis and incorporates the 5-prime triphosphate metabolite into RNA, thereby preventing nucleic acid synthesis. (NCI04)

6-Azauridine is from the group

Orotidylate Decarboxylase Inhibitor
Pyrimidine Antagonist
